Top 5 Ways You Can Sneak Exercise Into Your Busy Routine

Top 5 Ways You Can Sneak Exercise Into Your Busy Routine

Did you know that two in five Americans feel “too old” to work out, with 41 officially being the age Americans feel too old to exercise? At Svetness we think it's important to stay as active as possible at every age. The excuse of being “ too busy” or “not having enough time” is not going to cut it any longer! Less than a quarter of Americans are not getting enough exercise based on federal standards. It is extremely important to get the right amount of exercise daily for the benefit of your overall health. Denis Waitley put it best that “Time and health are two precious assets that we don’t recognize and appreciate until they have been depleted.' That is why we developed the Top 5 Ways You Can Sneak Exercise Into Your Busy Daily Routine!

Here Are 5 Ways You Can Sneak Exercise Into Your Daily Routine:

1. Park A Little Further Away

We have all driven around the parking lot hoping to get the closest spot possible. Waited for the car in front of you to steal the parking space you thought was going to be yours, only to have spent 15 minutes (that could have been exercise) just looking for parking. Next time you're headed to the store or even into work, park a little further away from the entrance to sneak in a little extra cardio. This might be one of the easiest ways you can implement more exercise into your daily routine.

2. Take The Stairs Instead Of The Elevator

Taking the stairs is a great way to sneak in exercise and has also been known to increase good cholesterol in the blood. Additionally it can lower the risk of mortality when climbing more the 55 flights of stairs per week! It is a great way to sneak in a magnitude of exercise and other hidden benefits.

3. Walk Around When You're On The Phone

Jumping up and roaming around when on the phone is a simple and quick way to sneak in a little exercise into your daily routine. It is also an excellent way to keep your mind fresh when holding a conversation with the person that you’re speaking with.

4. Skip Happy Hour & Do Something Active

Instead of grabbing drinks with co-workers and friends after work, try getting everyone together for a fitness class. Entrance into the class is most likely cheaper than the bill for drinks at the end of the night and instead of feeling bloated you can feel rejuvenated knowing you got the right amount of exercise incorporated into your day.

5. Follow The 1-Mile Rule

Instead of loading up the car and roaming around to look for parking next time you’re running up to the store or going for a quick bite. You should walk instead of driving if the place you are going is less then a mile away. Not only are you reducing your carbon imprint but you get to exercise and spend a little extra time with the people you love. If it is within a 1-mile radius of you, make it a habit to walk instead of drive.
