Zack has been an athlete and a drummer most of his life. He started playing soccer in Kindergarten, and gave a chance to pretty much all of the sports - football, swimming, baseball, basketball - until he fell in love with Rugby in highschool. Once in college at The University of Tennessee (Knoxville), Zack played as a starter on the collegiate rugby team, eventually earning a scholarship for his performance on and off the field, he also made several select sides in the South Rugby Conference. Through Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu he began to tap into the more subtle aspects of sport - focusing more on his breath, recovery, and the mental components and benefits of exercise. This lead him to become a certified personal trainer in 2018. Meanwhile he practiced at Nashville MMA for 8 years, obtaining his (purple belt) and beginning to coach at Nashville MMA. Today, his practice is more eclectic than traditional, and pulls heavily from practices such as catch wrestling, folk wresting, freestyle wrestling, and judo. You can catch him at Broken Anvil coaching American Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai, as well as coaching boxing at MayWeather Fitness & Boxing. As a coach he aims to help everyone to their full potential physically and mentally.
