Biography
My love for fitness started in my teens when I participated in multiple sports. I excelled at track and field as a sprinter and fell in love with the technical aspect of the sport and seeing the progress of my training. I took this mentality with me as I served in the US Army as an Infantryman. Physical conditioning became way more than about general health and helped myself and my team perform at our peak during a deployment to Afghanistan. Unfortunately, I was injured during this deployment. It took me almost two years to be able to run just one lap around a track again. As I have grown from that experience my love for fitness turned into a combination of gratitude, healing, and passion for helping others. I am grateful to be able to have made a physical recovery but that was just the beginning. The invisible wounds of war became my next mountain to climb. For a long time I felt lost. The job that I wanted to make a career to serve the country I love was taken away from me in an instant. I fought with PTSD, nightmares, and severe depression. With the help of some medical professionals that I will forever be grateful for, I was able to find myself again and accept the events of the past and use them to build a better future for myself and my family. At the same time I unveiled a passion for helping others. I have helped fellow veterans find healing and confidence through fitness. I have had the privilege to help patients who struggle with their mental health add a tool to their belt on their path to healing. And I have discovered a love to help people realize their own potential to create better lives by improving their overall fitness. I believe that wellness is more than just showing up to a gym and going through the motions of a workout. I believe it is about self-awareness by identifying weaknesses and following a plan to overcome them, building a sense of community, and realizing one's potential to be the version of themselves that they truly want to be through a well-rounded approach. I am excited to always continue learning and developing my knowledge and skillset to help others along their journey.
