Do You Feel Sleepy and Not Fit? Here’s How to Change That

Do You Feel Sleepy and Not Fit? Here’s How to Change That

The human body was designed to be muscular, supported by engaged muscles that move, stretch, and constrict to provide you with strength. Here are a few ways in which you can prioritize a fitness routine that is right for you.

Considering that 80% of American adults do not receive their recommended amount of exercise on a daily basis, if you are “not fit,” know that you are not alone. With 8-hour jobs, commutes, families, and social life, it can be hard to get to the gym and make fitness a priority. Generally, it is the first thing we ignore when life gets hectic, which is why so many people fall into the “not fit the category.”

Unfortunately, since your body is comprised of hundreds of muscles that work together to keep your skeleton in place while providing you with support, balance, and energy to move around and do everything from a walk to breathe, keeping these muscles flaccid and dormant is not good for your overall health.

In fact, lack of muscle can be related to fatigue, unhappiness, and poor sleep, since the presence of muscle is known for providing extra energy throughout your day. So if you’re feeling sleepy and lacking in muscle regularly, the two are directly related.

However, you don’t have to accept this chronic fatigue and the potentially obese state as your permanent reality. You can do something about it.

How to Be Fit

Fitness is something all of our bodies crave. Here are a few ways in which you can introduce this kind of activity back into your lifestyle:

1. Get At-Home Gym Equipment:

You don’t need to go out and buy a $5,000 treadmill. Instead, simply buy a set of dumbbells and a yoga mat. Really, that’s all you need to fit in some weight training and high-intensity interval training at home. In many ways, simply using your bodyweight can get you in great shape, helping you to build muscle and lose fat at the same time.

2. Wake Up Earlier:

People are busy today, there’s no doubt about it. However, you can probably cut back on some TV or phone time at night, in exchange for waking up 45-minutes earlier. Amazing fitness routines can be fit in just 20-30 minutes each morning. You can even run a 5k in under 30-minutes! Getting it over with in the morning is your best bet to prioritizing fitness.

3. Make It Fun:

Many people assume that fitness needs to be this terrible, never-ending cycle of cardio. That’s not the case. Weight training, aerobics, and blast of interval training can make fitness fun, dynamic, and ever-changing. You don’t have to suffer through a fitness routine.

Fitness requires discipline, which is why so many people are unable to stick with it. If you are considering making fitness a permanent part of your lifestyle, it might be worth pondering a personal trainer. We can discuss your personal goals and how you are going to achieve both weight loss, as well as muscle gain.
